Joyce and I took a trip to an area of Turkey called Cappadocia. It has a fascinating ancient history. A long time ago people discovered that the rock in the area was soft and easy to dig into. They carved out homes, churches, stables, storage rooms, kitchens, and entire cities.

It was hot, but beautiful.

The landscape at sunset. Can you see the dwellings carved into the rock at the bottom of the pic?

An ancient Hittite city.

All the women in the village wear this style of head coverings. Our host lady insisted on dressing us up.

A scouter is definitely the best way to tour on a hot day. Joyce and I had SO much fun!
