Life has become a little inconvenient lately. First off, my final exam is this Wednesday and Thursday. That means I'm spending all my days studying and struggling against my slacker tendencies that so desire to enjoy spring. Second, my car broke. I took it to the shop yesterday and they said it would take about $450 to fix. I'm not sure if the car is even worth that much. As of yesterday, I had a buyer for my car so I would have gotten it fixed and still come away with about $300. As of today, I have no buyer and will be out $450 if I fixed my car. The car breaking and the buyers backing out were totally separate incidences that happened to occur on the same day. A few entries ago I said "just don't call it chance...." I'm really curious and a bit discouraged about what is going on here.
More inconveniences. Due to severe lack of funds I no longer have the internet at my house. That means I have to streamline my internet usage since I only have about an hour a day at school. Some internety things I want to get done will inevitably be put off until they are utterly forgotten in the abyss of ....
A little side note, I just finished reading a fantastic kids book called The Giver. I couldn't put it down and therefore I recommend it to everyone. It's rare that I find a book that I find extremely absorbing. The book deals with an advanced society that has done away with emotions and personal choice for the greater good of societal "sameness." They live peacefully in their ignorance of love and pain, happiness and sadness. But there is one man whom the society has chosen to bear the weight of the memories of the society. These memories of lives and deeds long past are as real to him as if he had lived them himself. And he experiences emotions from these memories--extreme outrage at war and the depth of familial love, but he is banned from sharing his feelings. And so the stories continues. It's really a terrific book and takes about a day to read.
