a million entries

There have been a million blog entries floating around in my head over the last month. I haven't had the time to write them down and now they're sadly lost forever. But what I do have are a bunch of random photos I took for these now-never-to-exist blogs. I shall now commence a bunch of mini-blogs inspired by these photos and try to remember just why I took them....

This is posted on the inside of EVERY bathroom stall at Portland Community College (where I just finished my EMT course). The title reads "Potty Press... The Other Toilet Paper." I've learned all kinds of things from reading the Potty Press. And you have to read it. It's not an option because it's right there in front of your face. Pretty clever, whoever came up with it. And some how, for some reason, it always reminds me of Harry Potter.... only it would be a list of all Harry's miserable failings.

I visited my parents and we celebrated my birthday together. In true family tradition dating back to a long time ago, I got to serve myself a piece as large as I wanted from anywhere in the cake. As a kid I took full advantage of this tradition and served myself half the cake. Now as a mature adult I serve myself a very respectable piece... from the middle of course. The cake was homemade and SO tasty.

My grandad celebrated my birthday with me too. He's showing off the card he got me. I love my grandad! He's the best. He has a wicked sense of humor, is sharp as anything and you should hear his stories.

I discovered my new favorite thing today: biking in downtown Portland. I know it sounds crazy but I love dodging cars, people and trains. I love the chaos of it all and finding a pathway through the crowds (a nice, sane pathway mind you. No scaring of pedestrians involved).  It reminds me of biking in Tokyo where crowds and biking go together quite nicely. These two photos were taken near downtown Portland from my bike adventure today.

I didn't know you did that to your birthday cake! ha ha ha! And you need to blog every day and pretend we are standing in the hall fully intending on going to bed soon, or sitting in the living room about to watch Fringe but have delayed for an hour because we have too many stories to tell each other. Ok? Deal? :)

Deal! How 'bout either blogs or texts... because some things must remain secret :)

I miss you already.
