I'm in Salem, having arrived here late Monday night. I spent the past two days working like maniac on a massive human trafficking presentation for the weekly base-wide prayer meeting. Being somewhat perfectionistic when it comes to presentations, I was completely consumed by the project--not eating or sleeping. I'm exhausted. But the good news is that it went well and a lot of people cried (that's how I measure impact... not reliable but it shows that I'm on the right track =)

It strikes me that I can sacrifice a lot for the sake of quality communication. Good communication impacts people, and hopefully that impact will produce some kind of action. I can always catch up on sleep later.

After the meeting, the base leader told me that the base as a whole is thinking about what they can do in the area of human trafficking. Their idea is to focus on the issue within the five countries they are already working in. How cool is that?! They would use me as a "resource" person... but really, I would be telling them what to do and how to organize everything. I could advise them to start long term ministries in places like Myanmar and Sudan. I could tell them to send a scout team to N.Korea and Tibet. So many possibilities!

On a different note, remember when my computer was stolen back in October? Well, as it turns out, the lady who lent me a laptop told me over Christmas that she wanted to give it to me. Yay! And with the money that people donated to me, I am now able to pay off my car. It's a long story involving a good car at half price, me with no money, me praying that God would provide, my parents buying the car so that I could raise money and pay them back, the date for the payment looming, still no money, suddenly all the money appears out of thin air. It's a typical story, but one that makes me very, very happy.
