Tomorrow is the first day of a two day midterm. Not fun. It's nice to know that my term is already halfway done. I can't wait for August when it's all behind me for a while.
But enough about school! I've been reading a good book that I think all you should read. But a little disclaimer before I tell you about it. I happen to like fantasy. I happen to like Harry Potter. If you have a problem with either of those statements, then ignore the following.
I don't think I have ever read a book so fast in my life. I blasted through all 600 pages in three days and was sincerely entertained the whole way through. It's similar to a Harry Potter fantasy with witches, wizards, enchanters and a whole lot of magic. But it's different. I really enjoy the author's style. As a aspiring, but pathetically undisciplined writer, I am a very critical reader. What bugs me most about any book is the way an author writes. The story may be great but if I find the writing twinky, forced, laborious, or boring then that's it for me. Hey, I just had a great thought! Maybe I should be an editor (not the kind that look for spelling mistakes, though). There are so many truly worthless books out there on the market. I could do the world some good! (How do you like that humility =)
Anyway, back to the book. It's called The Chronicles of the Chrestomanci Volume 1 by Dianna Wynne Jones. Good stuff in an entertainment sort of way. If you like fantasy, then check it out.
