It's summer in February. What a nice change from the coldness of north-northern hemisphere. For those of you who get countries like Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines mixed up, Thailand is where I am now and all these countries are hot. Doesn't help? Look at a map.
I arrived happily on the 16th of February. A quick note to my parents (who threatened to disown me if I didn't write them after I arrived). As you know, I caught my flight from Seattle no problem. In Tokyo, after a two hour layover, I was able to squeeze on the flight to Bangkok in a nice economy class middle seat. So I arrived with no problems. Yay!
I don't quite know how to sum up my past few days. My first impressions of Bangkok: It's hot, it's crowded, there are way too many tourists here. The Thai people are nice but I haven't had much contact with them. I went touring around Bangkok yesterday and saw some of the famous sights. There's this beautiful palace, amazing actually. I've seen a lot of different styles of palaces around the world but none of them compare to the Grand Palace of Bangkok. I'll try to post some pictures soon but pictures really wont do it justice.
I'm going to be visiting Rahab this afternoon and more on Monday through Wednesday. I'm not sure exactly what I'll be seeing, but I'm sure to learn a lot. On Thursday I'll visit a similar ministry run by YWAM and on Friday I'm going to the beach.
